Do Your Chickens Need a Dust Bath?

My hens have been enjoying spending the day outside now that the weather has taken a turn for the better. They've also been looking for a good place to take a dust bath and get all spiffied up.

For now they've been making do in the dirt and a few pine needles, but I plan on making a more suitable place for them to do their primping and preening.

If your chickens need a dust bath, you can find some simple ways to make one here.

My whole coop is covered and has no floor. The girls get regular dust baths year round. They look a bit wierd when they do. It's kinda funny to watch. I love my chickens!

My chickens favorite place to dust is under the house or theflat bed trailer where the dirt stays dry. I had to give up on the wood stove ash bath until the rains stop.

It always scares me when I see them laying on their sides.
