My hens have been enjoying spending the day outside now that the weather has taken a turn for the better. They've also been looking for a good place to take a dust bath and get all spiffied up.
For now they've been making do in the dirt and a few pine needles, but I plan on making a more suitable place for them to do their primping and preening.
If your chickens need a dust bath, you can find some simple ways to make one

My whole coop is covered and has no floor. The girls get regular dust baths year round. They look a bit wierd when they do. It's kinda funny to watch. I love my chickens!

My chickens take their dust baths in my compost pile.
They crack me up because as you said it they look so funny!
Oh How I love the joys of owning chickens.
My chickens favorite place to dust is under the house or theflat bed trailer where the dirt stays dry. I had to give up on the wood stove ash bath until the rains stop.
It always scares me when I see them laying on their sides.
I love the joys of owning chickens.
