Cukes!

I've been busy on
myLot and writing articles for Associated Content so I'm a bit overdue on updates here. Everything is coming along and we've already eaten some of the fruits of my labors.

The packet of seeds said that these bush cucumbers required only about 1/3 the space of regular cucumber plants and that you can put three of them in a 12" container easily. My three have filled that space and are spilling over, and the cucumbers are just now starting to come in nicely.

It's hard to believe that what started from three small seeds quickly went from:

to:

The packet also said that the cucumbers should be pretty uniform in size, topping off at about 7-8". I don't think this guy read the packet.

I don't have all the equipment do to a proper canning, but I might be able to sneak in jar or two of refrigerator pickles, and I'll keep stocked up on sour cream to make my infamous cucumber salad.

Next up: Killer tomatoes!

Wow! That's a nice cuke! I'm glad they are growing so well for you. I think it has been just too hot down here. We have a few little ones and 5 nice roma tomatoes that are about ready to be picked. We did use some green onion from our little garden last night.
